As the contingents travel down from the starting point to the end point (800 metres) along the entire parade route, they will execute a performance routine as follows: Moving forward dance of 2 minute with standard dance steps choreographed by the PA, to be followed by another 1.5 minute static dance steps and creative movements to be choreographed by their respective dance trainers/choreographers. The contingent will need to repeat the 3.5 minute sequence as they move down the parade route.

Workshops will be conducted for all trainers/leaders to learn the standard 2 minute dance steps of moving forward choreographed by the PA free of charge. Based on the common dance steps which cannot be altered, variation in expression and style by your contingent is strongly encouraged.

Extra points will be given for those contingents wearing very interesting or unique costumes. Chingay EXCO reserves the right not to accept the participation of any contingents if their costumes are not up to standard.
-
Each contingent will be judged based on their creative presentation, costumes, props, synchronisation, energy level, interesting presentation of group branding and identity and the special X factor.
