CHINGAY PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROGRAMME
A partnership with xin.sg 新 动 网 of MediaCorp, STOMP (The Straits Times), Wildlife Reserves Singapore and more to bring Chingay beyond a mega parade show…….
In close partnership with xin.sg 新 动 网 of MediaCorp, STOMP (The Straits Times), Wildlife Reserves Singapore, Community Development Councils (CDCs) and private sector partners, the People's Association (PA) will launch a new Chingay Public Participation Programme ( 创 造 梦 幻 乐 园 - 精 彩 妆 艺 民 众 参 与 计 划 ) with a series of activities for members of the public to be a direct part of next year's Chingay excitement and grand celebrations; even to be involved as a performer in a Chingay Parade Contingent!
2 Why Project Wonderland? Mr Nah Juay Hng, Group Director (Networks) of PA and Chairman of Chingay Parade says: “PA and our partners believe that Chingay should be more than a mega parade show. It ought to be our annual national joyous event co-created, owned and warmly celebrated by all Singaporeans and as many friends of Singapore as possible. The Chingay Public Participation Programme that we are launching this year will pave way for Singapore to grow Chingay to achieve this objective”.
3 Under the theme “Project Wonderland” ( 创 造 梦 幻 乐 园 计 划 ), the Chingay Public Participation Programme will include a series of public workshops, competitions, Wearable Arts Exhibition and other events organised by our various partners with PA's support as indicated in the media lunch programme as below:
 CDC WEARABLE ART PUBLIC CONTINGENT FOR CHINGAY 2009
- Brief: Members of the public can participate in a workshop to learn wearable arts, learn simple dance movements, and wear their self-made artworks to perform at the coming Chingay Parade!

CHINGAY 2009 PUBLIC WORKSHOPS ON MAGIC “PROJECT SMILE”
- Brief: Learn basic magic tricks and perform along the parade streets before the parade and during the after parade party!
