CDC WEARABLE ART PUBLIC CONTINGENT FOR CHINGAY 2009

Here is an exciting opportunity for members of the public to be a part of the Chingay Parade 2009 - For the first time, anyone can participate in the Chingay Parade by joining the CDC Wearable Art Public Contingent! Simply sign up for one of the Wearable Art Workshops.

WEARABLE ART WORKSHOP

Express your creativity by designing and creating your very own wearable art! Come for one of the following workshops to learn how to create unique costumes, masks and clothing accessories that can be worn for the Chingay Parade.

Session 1

Date: Saturday, 15 November 2008
Time: 10am - 1pm
Venue: Auditorium, People's Association

OR

Session 2

Date: Sunday, 16 November 2008
Time: 2pm - 5pm
Venue: Auditorium, People's Association

In addition, there will be costume fitting sessions on 13 Dec (10 am onwards) OR 14 Dec (2 pm onwards) at the People's Association Auditorium. Participants will also be taught simple rhythmic movements to walk along to the music during the parade.

Who knows, your piece of wearable art may even land an award in one of the following categories:

  • Best Wearable Art - Individual Category (Child – below 12 years old)
  • Best Wearable Art - Individual Category (Adult)
  • Best Wearable Art - Team Category

Participation in the workshops and the parade is open to people of all ages, regardless of citizenship.
