Street Art Gallery - ITE College West
Street Art
Our youth aim to reinterpret traditional customs of the origins of the Chingay Parade with the aspirations and energy of today's youth. This is done by juxtaposing traditional folk art of Chinese New Year paper cutting with a modern take on the lifestyle of the urban youth. Icons representing mobile phones, Internet technology and sports are utilised to symbolise the modernity against the backdrop of traditional paper cutting which brings to mind links with our history, culture and community.
